       OVERVIEW

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Cladding Occupations (Construction) -Rainscreen Wall Cladding Systems qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification.

This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a specialist in Rainscreen Wall Cladding Systems within the construction industry.

You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification.

This qualification supports the learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.

The learner will learn key practical skills and knowledge in these mandatory units:
-Conforming to General Health, Safety and Welfare in the Workplace
-Confirming Work Activities and Resources for an Occupational Work Area in the Workplace
-Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace
-Confirming the Occupational Method of Work in the Workplace
-Preparing Backing Walls to Receive Rainscreen Wall Cladding Systems in the Workplace
-Installing Rainscreen Wall Cladding Systems in the Workplace

The learner will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in three of the following optional units:
-Refurbishing Sheeting and Cladding on Roofs, Walls or Rainscreen Systems in the Workplace
-Repairing Sheeting and Cladding Systems on Roofs and Walls (including Rainscreen) in the Workplace
-Preparing and Operating Ergonomic Manipulating Machines to Lift and Transfer Loads in the Workplace
-Preparing and Operating Scissor-type Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) in the Workplace
-Preparing and Operating Boom-type Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) in the Workplace
-Setting Out Secondary Dimensional Work Control in the Workplace
-Slinging and Hand Signalling the Movement of Suspended Loads in the Workplace

On completion of this qualification you will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrated competence to progress on to a higher-level qualification in the same or similar occupational area or enable entry into supervisory and management positions within the workplace.

Industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.

There are no formal entry requirements to take this qualification. This qualification can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.

 

          QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE

To achieve this qualification a minimum of 104 credits need to be attained. 76 credits must be achieved from the Mandatory Group and a minimum of 28 credits from the Optional Group.

You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. You will be assessed by an occupationally competent and qualified assessor whose job is to work with you and help you complete your qualification. 

You will be required to produce a Portfolio of Evidence showing how you have met the performance and knowledge criteria for each unit required within the qualification, as directed by your assessor.

This qualification is not graded.
