The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an essential introduction for anyone wanting to work and teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector. It is the ideal award for those with no previous teaching experience or qualifications, as well as those already working in the sector who would like to gain an official qualification.
There are no other formal entry requirements. However, it is recommended that learners have a minimum of Level 2 in numeracy/literacy.
The duration of the course is approximately one week, distance learning. Students will be required to perform a micro-teach session as part of the course.
After purchasing this course, learners will have access to the e-learning platform to access all the course materials. The course content will be available in their profile for 12 months.
We have an e-portfolio system in place; thus the assignments and other piece of evidence will be submitted in a digital format on our Portal. The learners will receive feedback from their assessor in less than 48 hours.
The e-learning platform will monitor all the hours spent by the learners reading the course materials. Also, the e-learning platform has an “Away from keyboard” protection as a security measure for the centre to proof that they achieved the knowledge for all modules during the GLH settled by TQUK.
The assessment is formed by two parts, a Micro Teach session (15 mins minimum) which will be 50% of the final score and three assignments which will be the rest of the 50% of the final score.
The learners can contact the tutor/assessor via:
- E-mail (24 hours)
- Telephone – during the o99 Training Academy working hours
- In person – during the o99 Training Academy working hours (with a minimum 2 hours’ notice)
To complete the TQUK Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF), learners must complete the two mandatory units (there is a third unit which is optional):
|Unit reference||Unit title||Level||GLH||Credit|
|Understanding the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training||3||12||3|
|Understanding and using inclusive learning and teaching approaches in education and training
Facilitate learning and development for individuals (Learning and Development unit)
Facilitate learning and development in groups (Learning and Development unit)
|Group C||Understanding assessment in education and training
Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
The assessment process is made up of two parts.
Part 1 – Micro Teach session – 50%
The learners must attend a Micro-Teach session. They will have to prepare a Lesson Plan and some course materials on the subject they intended to teach.
The assessor and the o99 Training Academy’ IQA will evaluate the plan and the presentation. The learner will have to attend to at least another Micro Teach session with other learners and give feedback to them. The duration will be in total one hour.
*In some cases, when the learners who cannot attend the Micro Teach session in our premises a Skype video call between the assessor, learner, IQA and at least other one learner will be arranged. All the learners who require a Skype video call assessment for their Micro Teach session will have to have an appropriate reason to require this.
Part 2 – Completing the Portfolio – 50%
There are three groups of assignments covering all theoretical assessment criteria.
Where a learner has not completed the Assignments for some reason, or it needs some improvements, the learner will have to retake the questions marked by the assessor and send them again via post.
