WHO IS THE COURSE DESIGNED FOR
This course is designed for learners wishing to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding of the importance of good personal and workplace hygiene and to take responsibility for food safety in a food retailing environment.
The European Union Regulation (EC) No 852/2004 on the hygiene of foodstuffs requires all food handlers to be trained appropriately on how to carry out their roles safely.
This Level 2 Award in Food Safety course ensures compliance with this legal responsibility by providing learners with a thorough introduction to the correct food handling practices.
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level one in literacy or numeracy or equivalent.
The qualification is suitable for learners aged 14 and above.
The course is suitable for food handlers in all disciplines of the catering/retail sector, including restaurants, hotels, cafes, bars, fast-food outlets, takeaways, mobile food trucks, kitchens, hospitals, schools and colleges.

After this course, learners will:
Understand how individuals can take personal responsibility for food safety
Understand the importance of keeping/herself clean and hygienic
Understand how to keep the working area clean and hygienic.
Understand the importance of keeping products safe.
After the course competition, the learners will have access to the exam questions.
They will have questions with multiple choices approved by the EQA team of TQUK. The minimum pass mark is 80%.
